A saree does not come in sizes — but the blouse does, and the length has to suit your height. Here is how to get both right.
Saree length and width
Every saree on this site is supplied as:
- Saree: 5.5 m
- Blouse piece: 0.80 m, unstitched, attached at the end of the length
- Width: 1.06 m (42 inches)
Which length suits your height

How to measure for your blouse
Measure over the undergarments you will actually wear with the blouse, keep the tape snug but not tight, and stand relaxed. Get someone else to take the back measurements if you can.
- Bust: around the fullest part of the chest.
- Upper bust: just under the armpits, above the bust.
- Waist: at the narrowest point, usually just above the navel.
- Shoulder: from the tip of one shoulder to the tip of the other, across the back.
- Blouse length: from the shoulder seam down to where you want the blouse to end.
- Sleeve length: from the shoulder tip down the arm to where the sleeve should finish.
- Armhole: loosely around the arm at the armpit.

These are a starting point for your tailor, not a guarantee of fit. A 0.80 m blouse piece comfortably yields a standard short-sleeved blouse up to about size XL; for XXL, elbow sleeves or a longer blouse, ask your tailor before cutting, and consider buying an extra half metre of a plain contrast fabric.
Petticoat and fall
Buy the petticoat in the same colour family as the saree, one shade darker rather than lighter. For tissue and tussar drapes we recommend having a fall stitched along the lower border — it protects the edge and helps the pleats sit.
